Well, this is my first photo manipulation. And to be honest the first large piece as well, so take it easy fellas :blushes:

I also have a version without a text, so if you think it should go or if you think I should place it somewhere else, just let me know.

The planet here looks really nice and the overall impact of the piece is rather nice. The blues seem a bit too bright; it is outer space, right? So maybe if the background were darkened a bit then the impact of the… swirly bright rays of apparent death would have a bit more impact. To tell the truth, the piece felt so monotone to me initially that I didn’t even notice those rays until I looked closer.
Background typically need some depth to then otherwise they feel, like I said before, rather monotone. I would eliminate some of the stars that you have, the subtle ones just look like a pattern done over and over, and have them more… spaced about a bit. Have some completely blocked by the space cloud stuff and some that peek through to see the very black space sky. Thing like that would really add some thought to this piece.
As far as the size goes, I’m not too thrilled about it. I feel like it’s a bit wide for a picture, yet holds too much interest (the planet) for a good background, though it may very well work as a background in some cases. I just wish it were cropped a bit more so you could see details of what was happening. Especially with those little stones that are floating about. Are they meteors? Are they rocks orbiting the planet? Did they come OFF the planet? It would be nice to see a few more details.
But at first glance it’s a very nice piece. Kudos.
